Residential solar grants

The SEAI solar grant is offered to homeowners for their private residences. This grant can lower the cost of installing a solar PV system by up to €1,800, making solar energy a more accessible option for many families in Ireland.

2025 Rates:

€650 per kWp for the first 2 kWp

€250 for every additional kWp up to 4 kWp

Maximum grant available is €1,800

Whos is eligible 

• All homeowners, including private landlords

• Homes built and occupied before 31st December 2020

• No previous funding for Solar PV granted

How to Apply 

1. Appoint a registered SEAI solar PV company

2. Apply to SEAI for a grant offer

3. Solar company applies to ESB Networks

4. Install solar PV panels

5. Complete a post works BER

6. Solar company submits evidence of works to SEAI

7. SEAI process the claim
